If you look at the ingredients of most finishing powders, setting powders, or powder foundation, you’ll likely come across talc. While some people may not react to it, individuals with sensitive skin may experience rashes or flare ups. That’s why we created talc free makeup products–so everyone can feel good about applying it to their face.

Begin with a clean, moisturized face. Apply a foundation, blending it evenly using a brush, sponge, or fingertips. Use concealer to cover any blemishes and brighten the under-eye areas. Set with translucent powder. Define your brows using a brow pencil and/or gel. Apply eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara to accentuate your eyes. Add color to the cheeks with blush and use bronzer to contour and add warmth. Apply highlighter to your cheekbones, brow bones, and the bridge of your nose. Complete the look with a lip liner, lipstick, or gloss.

Makeup separation can occur due to a variety of reasons, including using incompatible products, not allowing products to dry properly before layering, or excessive oiliness. Using a good primer, using products from the same formulation (e.g., oil-based with oil-based), and setting with powder can help prevent separation.

A good face primer can create a smooth base and help makeup last longer. bareMinerals has four primer options to choose from which minimize pores, reduces redness, hydrates and SPF.

Eyeshadow can be applied before or after foundation. If you're doing a dramatic or colorful eye look, applying eyeshadow before foundation would make more sense so it could be easily cleaned up without affecting face makeup. For more natural or minimal looks, applying it after foundation works as well. Some people also use a setting powder or eyeshadow primer to minimize fallout.
