Face Makeup Brushes FAQs

How to apply foundation with a brush?

Our signature Swirl, Tap, and Buff application method is the best way to apply foundation with a brush. First, you tip a little of the loose foundation into the lid, then you swirl our Beautiful Finish Foundation Brush into the lid. Next, you tap away any excess, then you buff the product directly into the skin. Continue until you reach your desired coverage.

How to clean foundation brush?

The easiest way to clean your foundation brush is by wetting the bristles under warm water. Next, massage a gentle cleanser into your palm. Rinse out the soap and squeeze out the excess water. Then simply lay flat to dry. Repeat this process for all your brushes to improve makeup application and to ensure your skin remains clear.

What brush to use for blush?

Our favorite brush for blush is our iconic Blush Brush. The angled tip makes for easy application with target color control.

What brush to use for highlighter?

Our highlighter brush is great for reaching the high points of the cheekbones, brow bones, down the nose, and the cupid’s bow. The pointed, tapered head of the Diffused Highlight Brush hugs contours and provides precise application.

What brush to use for finishing powder?

For finishing powder, you want to use a brush that’s versatile, tapered, and semi-round, like our Full Flawless Face Brush.

How often to clean makeup brushes?

We suggest cleaning your makeup brushes once every two weeks at a minimum. This ensures the brush doesn’t hold on to product build up and you don’t have to worry about oil or germs being spread onto your face.

What are the benefits of a hypoallergenic makeup brush?

The benefit of hypoallergenic makeup brushes is simply that they aren’t made of any type of fibers that could irritate sensitive skin. If your skin is prone to allergic reactions, hypoallergenic brushes may be the choice for you.

What are hypoallergenic makeup brushes made of?

Hypoallergenic makeup brushes are made of soft, vegan or synthetic fibers that are free from animal allergens and are often easier to clean than traditional makeup brushes. Each of our makeup brushes are cruelty-free, vegan, and extremely soft to the touch.

How often should you get new makeup brushes?

If you take good care of your makeup brushes, they can last you anywhere from one to five years, or even longer. Though, brushes with heavy use may want to be replaced on the earlier end of that spectrum. Look out for frazzled edges, stiff bristles, an unpleasant smell, or skin breakouts to help you determine whether it’s time to switch out your brushes.

Makeup Brush Info

The Only Powder Foundation Brush You’ll Need

Designed to hold powder like a sponge, our Beautiful Finish Foundation Brush fits perfectly into the lids of our award-winning powder foundation to give you fast, flawless coverage with little to no effort. Plus, our Swirl, Tap, and Buff application method allows for sheer-to-full coverage.

The Benefit of A Blush Brush & Bronzer Brush

Blush and bronzer aren’t always applied to the same areas of the face, so it makes sense to use brushes specifically designed for each. Our bronzer brush features a two-way tapered head, perfect for applying, contouring, and blending our loose powder bronzer. Our Blooming Blush Brush features an innovative angled shape to help diffuse color and make your cheekbones pop.

A Face Brush Perfect For Setting Powder

We made a versatile tapered, semi-round brush that’s perfect for foundation, blush, bronzer, and setting powder. Our favorite way to use it is by dipping into either our loose translucent setting powder or our pressed finishing powder, tapping away the excess, then patting it on shiny areas.
