Tinted moisturiser is one of those hard-working, versatile, suits-all makeup items that no one should be without. And while they are very straight forward to use – just dot on and blend – there are some easy expert hacks that will take your result up a notch.
The first thing you need to know about tinted moisturiser is they are not all made equal. Most will bridge the gap between skincare and makeup, bring more hydration than your typical foundation, and a dose of pigment to your skincare, but the skin-loving benefits can vary greatly.
We call bareMinerals COMPLEXION RESCUE Tinted Moisturizer a 3-in-1 multi-tasker because it offers excellent skincare benefits from Hyaluronic Acid, plus beautiful natural-looking pigment in a multitude of shades so everyone can enjoy it, plus it contains high factor SPF30 protection.
Here’s everything else you need to know…
How To Wear Tinted Moisturiser
Hack 1: Boost Glow
Because Complexion Rescue is half skincare, half makeup, it works in harmony with any skincare you apply to your skin first. This means that you can layer Complexion Rescue over a super hydrator such as PRIME TIME Hydrate & Glow Primer to enhance your glow in a natural-looking, soft focussed away.
It couldn’t be simpler to do. Apply a fine layer of the primer over your entire face before applying Complexion Rescue. Alternatively, mix one part primer, to two parts Complexion Rescue in the back of your hand, before transferring to your face and blending in.
Hack 2: Conceal redness and imperfections
Complexion Rescue is buildable, just like a foundation or a concealer, so if you have any areas that concern you, such as excess redness in your cheeks or the odd mark left over from a blemish, you can apply a touch more Complexion Rescue over the top of your first layer, where needed. The trick is to allow 30-seconds-or-so between layers. Unlike the first layer which should be blended in, press the pigment onto the areas you want to conceal either with fingertips or a flat concealer brush such as Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush.
Hack 3: Contour
For the days you want to be fuss free with minimal makeup, but still want to look groomed and pulled together you can enhance your natural face shape with your tinted moisturiser. Before applying your usual Complexion Rescue to your face, take a shade a couple of grades darker than your natural skin colouring in the same undertone, and apply with a light hand to the hollows of your cheeks, immediately underneath your cheekbones, and up onto your temples. Once blended, apply your Complexion Rescue as normal. You won’t look as though you’re wearing anything else, instead your skin will appear warmer and slightly more defined. It couldn’t be easier.
